An FYI to DYI restore for that trim with a proper coating. I used black Plasti Dip in a spray can. It covered the old, faded, rubber trim below the door windows well. It is flexible like the rubber, should hold, and looks better now. I can't say they look new because there were scratches in the rubber.

Now I am going to hit the faded door handles and tail gate handle. Maybe hit a few other faded items like the down around the wiper mounts.

I'll get some pics after I coat them.................................

I sure need to do my door window trim also, it's pealing off.

You look like an angry Martin Sheen.

Angry Sheen and very Mean! Ha, "Charlie don't surf".

I like plasti dip, my brother coated his entire dashboard in the stuff after fiberglassing it that repair has been holding wonderfully for two years. Just don't spray it anywhere you don't want it to be, one of my friends sprayed it on a wheel of my family's E350 as a joke saying it would peel off eventually... it doesn't and now we've got a weird black circle when we drive...

Great idea, Blown!!! I was planning on doing my wife's Corolla's windshield wiper area with the spray on. That area on her Corolla is starting to fade a bit. Not bad for an '03!! I just found some last week and never knew it was in a can before. I know there are a few places by us that do wheels and blackout body kits with the Plasti Dip. I think yours came out great.

They suggest 4-5 coats to be able to peel it later. That's a bunch of material, a thick coating, so you can peel it if you want. A friend redid a wheel, don' tknow why, but he used a power washer to strip the paint.

I cleaned the door handles with alcohol, taped them off, and shot them. This material is being used for non skid surfaces. It will provide a bit of gription on the handles.

Will get the wiper mounts later, they are the only faded pieces left to do.

Looks good. I was thinking of using semi gloss for the metal and black trim paint for the plastics.
