I have a 2004 ranger and I have been thinking about lowering it for a while...the only problem is that I cannot find any kits for it being lowered...any suggestions?

For a 2004, you are wanting to get a kit from DJM, they have 2 kits for the 1998-up Rangers. They have a 2/3 drop and a 4/5 drop. Depending on how low you want to go.
I will have a set of 2in drop coils and a flip kit going up for sale here shortly, due to air bags, but it is all up to you on what want to do. Good luck man.

I just picked up an 04 with a ticking 2.3. I really want to lower it and make it a mini truck over the winter. Is the belltech 3/3 drop a good kit? It on stylin concepts. Comes with shocks and everything (I) need to drop it in my garage.

Suggestions?
Thanks

Never heard a bad thing about the belltech, but I would still recommend the djm 4/5 kit due to the fact that most people who lower their trucj with a static drop usually ends uo want to go lower with air bags, and with the DJM kit you are about half way there to.

Not looking to put air bags on it. Just want to fill the wells better with my 16's plus its just a parts runner when my full size is down, or cruising the strip.

Later

4/5 will help the 16s fill out very nice. Go with the DJM 4/5 drop for you truck. You will not regret it.

I just got the '05' 2-3 DJM kit on E-Bay from a dealer for $100 less than Summit.

To be honest I do not think He will be satisfied with the 2/3 drop and 16s.
Just my opinion, but hey you got a pretty good deal, and the price that Summit offers actually includes shocks so really you walked away for the same price.

Is there any change from the 2004 Ranger to the 2008 Ranger?

Can someone tell me if the front suspension is "torsion bar" like the Edge model, or "control arm"?

TIA! :)

I am guess since you are posting in the 2wd section, your truck is 2wd drive...
I guess the better question is... Is your truck an edge or a regular 2wd (xl, xlt )?

And best way to tell is if you look under your truck and you see 2 bars coming from the lower control arm to the frame back towards the tranny, then you have torsion bars, but if there is no bars then you got a regular 2wd.

And yes the suspensions are all the same from 98 and up.

My truck is a 2WD Ranger Sport supercab, 3.0L V6.

I didn't think there were Edge Rangers anymore...

Is there a guide somewhere that breaks down which models have which suspension? Or are ALL Rangers, 98 and up, the same?

No not all 98 and up Rangers are the same because they are still making the EDGE.
The easiest way to tell if your truck is to look underneath it and look to see if you have a round bar running from your lower control arm to the tranny crossmember.

As for publications check your owners manual or check the Ford website, heck even a Hanes manual should tell you, but save the time and money and look under truck, take you that extra 5 min out of your busy life and get a quanted with your truck. It will not bite I promise.

But the way you describe it sounds like a regualer ole 2wd non torsion bar.

Well I took a look under there last night.

Not really sure what I'm looking at.

But not to fear, I took pictures! :D

So those two bars are torsion bars?

Sure enough:yahoo:, those are the bars you were looking for. Those are what they consider to be torsion bars.

So the bad news is your truck will not be the same as what the other Rangers 98 and up suspensions are, but there is good news you suspension is NOT the same as all the other Rangers...

So now the question is are you still wanting to lower the truck ?

It can be done just needs a bit more work.
