hey so ive been throwing around the idea of a swing out tire carrier on my ranger....by using one from a BII. How exactly do the tire carriers attach to the BII's ? is it just bolts?

A B2 tire carrier would bend the hell out of a Ranger bed.
The B2's body is reinforced where the tire carrier bolts up.

Long story short, good idea but bad idea.
Better off with a bumper mounted swing out, like what 4x4Junkie has on his B2.

Hey yeah i did a little more searching, and found some people had used blazer carriers, just need to figure out how they reinforced it i guess.

i have an isuzu rodeo swingaway on my ranger. it's welded on with a couple bolts for emergencies lol but i don't have it reinforced and i haven't had the need to. i beat my truck up too lol still no problems.

on my old ranger I used one from a B2. I used a big piece of sheetmetal to reinforce the bedside. on the top pivot bracket there is an ear you have to cut off, youll see which one, and just have a friend help hold it up to align and drill the holes for it.

i love the first one so much!

however, the site says they are for f150's?

i want something like this because i want my spare to be more accessible than it currently is now underneath my truck. and i don't want that bolt to be rusted shut again if i need my spare..

Hey yeah I had looked into those, and like them but then i lose my tailgate. Annnnnddd if you look into them, theyre like 700-800$ a piece. Im looking to spend a lot less than that.

wow yeah not worth it to me...

but i love the concept, and i don't want my tire under my truck anymore.

what is a safe smart way to secure my tire to my bed? no hijack... as this somewhat is relevant to your topic.

i am making on for my ranger i am almost positive that it will not even cost me $200.00 to make one

I built one 2 years ago. Cost me 56 bucks for 21 feet of tube, and like 4 bucks in springs for the latch/hinge mechanisms.

It opens in either direction, and is reversible.
