Toyo Kogyo 5 speed to m5od

I have an short bed 2wd 87 ranger 2.3, bench seat with a toyo kogyo 5 speed, can i put in a m5od from an 88 an up 2.3, if so whats needed and what changes must be made to make complete, i searched but didn't find anything for my specific on whats needed to do for my setup, thanks

Should just need the trans and possibly the rear driveshaft (or a driveshaft from an M5OD-equipped truck the same body/cab style as yours). You'll likely also need to move your transmission crossmember back two inches (there should already be holes in the frame allowing for this).
 
thanks, would the speedometer be different, also shifter location
 
I wouldn't think so on the speedo, however you can easily change the speedo gear on the end of your speedo cable if needed.

As for the shifter, the M5OD's might be farther forward (I know it's farther forward than a FM146 shifter). Just be sure to get the shifter boot & trim piece, and the floor opening plate from the donor and everything should go right in.
