ZX3 Focus!!

So the dealership found worn ball joints, small leak in an axle seal, and a worn tie Tod end.

So, I got some work to do lol.
Cheap parts so ot shouldn't be bad.

$270 later I have two tie rod ends, two lower control arms (with ball joints already installed) and an axle seal.

Shipping was $90. But still cheaper in the end than local.

Now I'll have one spare tie rod end, and two spare control arms.

I don't think those flaps are working there Skippy.

The new old focus with the old old Torino.

Hopefully some day I can retake this with a restored torino.

Nice. Dad had a '71 that sat in his yard for about 10 years -- he used to store his tools in the trunk.

DWS is a nice tire, but check out the Conti PureContact with EcoPlus. Yeah, they sound green, but I've driven both and I think the Pure has better turn-in response than the DWS. Great in the snow, too. But I'd drive winter tires if I had a commute like that -- I did 90 miles a day for 25 years.

It's nice you have a spare set of wheels for that.

Yeah. That's the main reason I bought the new ones.

So I'd have the old ones for winters.

Well, having weird trans issues. Won't go into 2nd easily from neutral. But it goes in normally from 1st.

4th seems like the shifter doesn't go down as far as it used to, and the same with reverse.

Hoping it's just a cable adjustment, which is a bitch to do.

But with my luck it will be something more costly.... FML.

Bought the damn thing to save money. I'm spending more fixing it than I'm saving lol.

Stupid shady used car dealers.

Starting to hate this ****ing thing.

Scumbag dealership sold a terribly shitty car.

Need both new front axles, the carrier bearing was shot and missing half the balls, the ball joints that were ordered don't fit, stud is to big (not anyone's fault but mine I guess, should have ordered different ones?)

Exhaust has leaks, list goes on.

Will be down another two weeks waiting for parts again. That's another extra $400 wasted in gas by driving the truck. And another $300+ for parts.

Stupid

Got the car working good a few months ago. Finally got new tires slapped on my 17's

Its still not 100% but its more than good enough to safely commute with.

New plans for this car.

Going to gut the interior, take out carpet, back seats, interior panels, sound deadening, headliner, radio and speakers, etc. Basics everything but the dash, steering wheel, and two seats will be gone.

After that, a slight drop, 1"-1.5" at the most, engine freshening up, and a tune. Should make for a very agile car. Drop a ton of weight, and increase handling. Should be fun. And definitely an increase in MPG as well. Which was the main purpose of this car.

Interior gutting has begun now that its warming up. Working lots of overtime so it will be slow progress for a while. But, more money for parts lol.

Got the front two doors done for now.

Those door panels were heavier than I thought they would be. Guessing total weight savings so far is around 15 lbs.

Hoping by the time I'm done gutting to drop about 300 lbs.

Will be getting coilovers if my tax return is decent enough.
1.4" lower than stock. Should be good.
