Does Yukon gear sell a 5.13?I found a Yukon 5.13 for my rear end but can only find a 4.88 for the front.

I've searched eastcoastgearsupply, the Yukon site and Randy's rainy and pinion

I'm sure nitro sells 5.13 but id rather have Yukon.

Call them and see. You could have already had an answer from them by the time you posted this...lol

I personally wouldn't got lower than 4.88 in that D35 TTB. You have no idea how small that pinion gear is going to be.

Well I wanna run 36, I don't do rock crawling and I'm easy on the skinny pedal. I've read that the 5.13 pinion is significantly smaller. Just wasn't sure if 4.88 with a 4.0 and 36 would be adequate. I think it'll be similar to 4.33 and 31s in my Nissan.

I'm running 4.56s and 35s with absolutely NO problems on and off highway

I think the tach will be just under 3k at 65. Which should be fine I used to run my yota at 3500 at 65

I chose 4.88 for 33s... off road 95% tho... you can prob run 36 with 4.88 but 5.13 would be better.... personally im an off road abuser and would never put anything bigger than 33s on ANY D35.... People get away with it but it probably wouldn't last long with me in the drivers seat lol. It would be like a time bomb!

Ya. This truck is going to be used 95% off road. Gonna be driven to the trails. And used as a back up truck. Most our highways are 55. And its mainly mud snow and fire trails. I see guys here run 37s on d30... And if I break it I'll throw a Dana 44 in there. Not worried too much about power wise just wanting to get the ratio right the first time. Iether want a supercharger for the 4.0 or a 5.0 depends how long the ttb lasts.

If a d44 goes in I'll prob go 5.0 but if not I want a supercharger. I don't wanna put the 5.0 on the ttn.

The d35 TTB can take alot of abuse. Anything will break behind a 5.0 if you run it hard lol.

What's the need for such big tires if your not guna run it hard or crawl it?

What he said.

Seen like a billion people around here running 35s on their d35. Not unheard of to see 36s or 37s either, although I think thats largely dependant on how nice you are to your gas pedal...

We have some holes that seem to double in size and get deep snow. Plus 35s are the new 31 and I don't wanna be like every other day run in 35s. The reason I got a b4000 was because I've never seen one lifted and its not a yota

My D35 gears are 5.13 Yukons (been running them for over 8 years now), but Yukon hasn't been all that reliable in the past few years with their availability. I would for sure call them and ask.

That said, I wouldn't hesitate to buy Nitro's gears. In the 6 years since I became aware of Nitro, I've only once seen an issue, which AFAIK they promptly took care of.
Yukon's gears I've seen issues with once or twice over the years also, so I'd say it's 6 & one half-dozen of the other (OE Dana gears are going to be your best/most consistent, but you're limited to 4.10:1 there).

I've yet to see credible proof of anyone having busted a 5.13 HP D35 gear...
(and I recall only once someone claiming to have seen one busted, but of course it went like: "My friend's buddy's brother blah blah blah")
This of course could change if someone ever decides to put RCV's new bling TTB shafts into one and then starts beating on it, but until then...

yeah I saw that. I wanted Yukon gears because as I understand the instructions are more fullsome and easier to understand.

Download Yukon's instructions here... Use them to install your Nitro gears. (they all install exactly the same).

Lots of resources are on the web for gear installation help (even some links right in the FAQ post at the top of the forum here too).
