This will be a sickening post, but after seeing ShoeBoy's post, I wanted to see how other people's RBV's have held up. Throw in the story if you have time.

March of 05, there was an icestorm. I took the long way from home to school (2 highways instead of a twisty/hilly state road along a river). I was doing under 35mph on the interstate, hit a curve the rear started to slide out. Ended up in the snow driving parallel to the highway, started bringing it back but did not realize the snow had filled in a ditch. Truck went down the small ditch, just clipped a tree and skipped past it which opened the fender like a can.
When the trooper responded, he slid off the road. When the tow truck tryed to winch me out it was sliding instead of pulling my truck. I drove my truck out of the ditch so they could load it, and they still manage to pop my tire

Totalled due to labor involved. Frame/Suspension/running gear was perfect.

On Nov. 11 of last year, I was on my way to work at 4am. On the interstate at 80mph, I see glowing eyes off the right side of the road ahead of me. I apply the brakes and move to the left lane, trying to get past the animal. The animal, a pregnant doe, bolts at the last second. IMPACT!! at about 65mph. Airbag blew off, fuel shut off, and the radiator tank (on a 2 day old radiator) is torn off the core. Radiator fan untouched, alignment still perfect, no glass cracked or broken, doors open and close easily. Reset the fuel cutoff switch, engine started easily, no coolant. towed home, sold later for parts.

My Explorer after it was rear-ended (the first time): :D Yea, it's built Ford tough.

The girl-who-hit-it's insurance company wrote us a check for the damage, and we basically just took the money and didn't fix it. So, a few years later when my buddy rear-ended it with his Ranger, the bumper got a little more pushed in. Since my parents didn't really care about a dented bumper, it's still not fixed, and he got off scott-free. The damage still isn't bad at all, just a new bumper and good to go. The S10 at work however, gets rear-ended once and totally Fubared the bumper and bent the frame rails. Ahh, Chevys. :haha:

Hit from the side at 35 mph.

It's rebuilt now. With a lot of hours and sweat equity.

Well, I might as well get mine here. Probable one of the most sickening wrecks here, where it happened at 90km/h and I landed 50 feet below the road level, and probably traveled 50-100feet without touching the ground, and ripping out 20-30 trees. After all of that, I crawled out and walked away, somehow because of all logic, I should have been killed.

When it was at the tow yard sitting "pretty" in its 3 week old paint.

Where I took the picture from the road right after it happened.

My truck was wrecked when I bought it. Me and my dad are thinking it hit a small red car. There isn't TOO much damage and there is a little bit of red paint smeared into the bent part of the bumper. The frame was slightly bent, and we had to replace all of the front body peieces (grill, left fender, hood etc.). But now it is good as new. except for the gravity defying paint runs from me and my dad's rookie paint job. I don't mind it at all though.

(If the pics are too big, tell me and I will make them smaller)
They're on Photobucket so I don't think it should be a problem.

The wrost part was that i was almost stpped at the top of the hill.

wow hotshot thats scary, time to invest into a cage? now i see why you building that ranger

So how exactly did you flip the explorer? It looks like the hand of god just picked it upped and flipped it upside down then dropped ya. I just don't see how that sandy hill could have done that.

I just so happened to stumble upon this thread, ironically i just had my second crash last night. I was cruisin along at only about 25mph tops. and i see a car stick its nose out of a parking lot and stop, i thought " nah were good" but low and behold, the stupid broad whipped her little 2008 Nissan Altima right on out there in front of me, i figured she was gonna gun it and haul ass. i covered my brake and watched, only to see nothing but her tail lights as she came to a complete stop, keep in mind that she only had about 5 lenghts when she pulled out. I mashed on the brake and plowed her square in her ass end.. I was pissed, her car was launched about 20 feet forward from where i came to a rest. I looked at her car and saw both tail lights and rear window completely gone. the front of her trunk lid was in her back seat. I was afraid to look at my truck. but i got out and looked at my front end only to find ZERO damage, ( this sounds hard to believe until you look at this thread of mine, http://therangerstation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75153,) two wreckers showed up and one of the drivers asks me "Did the other vehicle leave the scene?"
i replied "no?"
Him " ok where is it at?" me "uh im sittin on the tailgate of it." he walked around to the front and came back and says in disbelief "man there aint no ****in way!" me " yes it is, ask that dumb bitch that puled out infront of me." driver " well ok whatever i dont really care. where do you want it towed?"
I litterally laughed in his face and replied. " dude youaint towin this. its still ****in runnin, it didnt even trigger the emergency fuel cut off switch"
needless to say the Altima was totalled. upon further inspection at home i discovered a crack in my radiator side tank. so when i get home im pulling it, it looks like its small enough for just a lil JB Weld. Ill post pics when i get them from the insurance company. But once again take a look at this thread, http://therangerstation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75153 saved my truck, my vehicle might be temporarily wounded, but hers is in the wrecker lot. best $180 i ever spent.
