Ye age olde question...

What size tires you have on the thing right now?

The bigger you go with the tires the less low end grunt the truck will have. Even just upsizing by a measly inch will be a noticeable difference.

245 75 r16, think these wheels are 7in width and someone said somthing like -6mm (not sure backspace equiv)

So basically 30.5 inches

I do love some precious gas mileage but i only avg about 20 mi per day and we take the misses' subaru when alot of miles are involved

Another thing i read is alot of folks go w steel which is heavier but the wheels im looking at are alloy so i fig thatd help at least a little in the weight/torque department (although steel is stronger)

That sounds spicy. You got a pic perchance? Im nowhere near a lift lift for the foreseeable future but id like an idea of how it looks

And anyone else for that matter please post up pics of 15x8s if ya got em with your tire and specs
Pictures everywhere. Build thread linked in my signature.

The weight is only one factor, overall gear ratio is the bigger one.

If your truck has 3.73 gears in it right now, going to a 33" tire will essentially turn them into 3.33s.

That'll make acceleration feel like you have more than a few hundred pounds in the bed.
