Dont give up just yet....Usually when the manifold-to-head bolts break they still have some stud left to grip onto as they dont break off flush with the head. Once you get all of the bolts removed and the manifold off you will probably end up with a few broken ones. You could try using an easy out (one of the ones that looks like a socket that have threads to grip as you turn), or even weld a nut onto the end of the remaining stud. Use PB Blaster or heat in this case and back it out being careful not to apply a lateral load that could break it again. You'll notice that unless the engine has been apart, there is no exhaust manifold gasket. When you put it back together, grab a fel-pro exhaust gasket from your local auto parts store. It will seal it up for sure. Dont forget to re-tap the threads too (should be 8x1.25) and get new grade 8 bolts. Once you get it all back together you'll be amazed at how much quieter it sounds with no leaks.
