XRC8 on my 79 bronco?

The sticktivity of mud is a lot greater than the sticktivity of pavement. I'd really prefer to have 10K winch on my BII, that way I KNOW I have more than enough for any situation, even falling down a skyscaper... haha. Which is why I don't have one yet, I want to get the one I want. Better to have too much than not enough I figure.

pulling an f350 up onto a car trailer and pulling out a bronco axle deep in mud are two way different things. seriously, just save up the money and buy a proper winch.

Not really, you are doing a dead pull uphill onto the trailer and assuming the Bronco is running you can winch in while you drive forward. We rarely use winches to dead pull something out offroad, usually it's just to add a little pressure forward to get over an obstacle.

i agree.....i've run 8000 warns on big trucks.they work fine for self recovery.dead pulls are another story...still,you should always have a snatch block on board.call it insurance.second battery is a good idea too.
