Hey Guyz

Im in need of your guys info!!!!!!!!
When your wiring in the 5.0 what would or think you guy would do.

I have have a 91 ranger that came with a 2.3L in it, And I have a 1989 a9l computer with harness for the 5.0 . Do you guys rip out the factory wiring and install the 5.o harness and splice from there.

Or keep the 2.3l harness and repin for the 5.0/ splice in new wire as needed.

Or If missing something please let me know Thanks:dunno:

The mustang harness is about as close to a standalone harness as you can get, and the A9L is about the best choice computer you can get...Your in the right direction....Use the 5.0L harness, you should only have about 3-5 wires to splice...

There is a large (white?) circular connector on your firewall, near your brake booster. Any circuits you are looking for are located here. Make splices into the wiring on the ENGINE side of this connector.
You Mustang harness will have three main connectors- green near the ECU, and an 8pin grey and 8pin black. None of these three connectors will be full, but all the circuits you need to use are located there.
The Mustang harness has an additional main power and main ground near the stock (Mustang) driver side battery location, and an O2 ground near the salt and pepper connectors.

The Mustang harness is plenty long to re-arrange to easily fit your engine bay, or you can shorten sections of it.

If you are lost on the wiring, Harwoodperformance makes a wiring swap manual, based on the '93 Mustang harness. Differences are that year has a green 8pin connector and a single brown 8pin (where yours has a grey and a black) , but all circuits are the same. Second difference is the '93 'Stang harness includes the fuel pump relay. This wiring is already present in your Ranger, so it's not an issue.

Purchase an EVTM for your year of Ranger, Mustang EVTMs are available free online (veryuseful.com, fordfuelinjection.com) and the wiring is simple.

If you nuse the Harwood manual, hook up your O2 power and FPM circuits according to your Ranger EVTM, not the manual.

Enjoy.

Oh, and for Mustang EFI, it's approximately 20 splices, depending on if you run gauges or if you touch some of the stock stuff like reverse lights and add a check engine light ;)
