Wrecker Electric fan options

um, foxbodied mustangs have mechanical fans...

everyone i've seen do this said they use the taurus e-fan, you can get a thermostat that sits inside the veins of the radiator, to read the rad tempature, if the cold side of the rad is over a certain point, it comes on...

T-junctions work great for pressure sensors, and really shitty for temperature ones, your sensor is going to mid-read by at least ten degrees if not worse.

well. this is the very problem with the mod.

i am not trying to be offensive guys, so take it in context.

when people talk out of their ass it causes the misinformation.

it is readily apparent you both think it is i that is talking out of my ass.

now. there is already a sensor port in most cases that can be directly used.

most smart guys will take this obvious direct mount, and yeah i take that for granted. but i have to assume there is some level of common sense amongst shade tree's.

the tee i refer too, if one chooses this route as it tends to be easy will be inline with the bypass close as possible to the pump and done with pipe/optionally with bling brass pipe 3/8 fittings. how else would one reasonably do it and expect good results??? it works perfectly.

(this is meant to be funny)

the fan switch i refer too is a 180 type from a fox body, yes a fukking fox body.........yes a ****ing 88 fox fukking 4cyl has and electric fan that haS A FUKKING FAN SWITCH IN THE COOLANT FUKKING PASSAGE TO TURN ON THE FUKKING ELECTRIC FUKKING FAN....

SO WITH ALL OF THIS FUKKING aboot...

you can take the rest of the month off from sexual relations to rest up.

i speak from direct and hundreds of thousands of miles of experience over 20 plus years.

but, you guys made the point of talking out ones ass giving bad results.....you just did not know you were the ones talking out of the ass.

thanks for forcing me to clear this up....it is almost motovating me to the point i am considering buying a camera and making the fan setup guideline that is heavily requested of me.

so you know, there are enough people here and at a few other off road sites, that can guarantee that there are few idiots out there that will rail the balls off of their daily driver like i have been known to do. i say this to qualify "the hard way" is the way i have come up with the setups that i suggest. they were actually discovered with extreme measure to be found acceptable..

so is any of that need clearing up further:dunno:

Soooo, what would it take to push you over the edge? :D :icon_cheers:

i was actually talking from recent experience in a small block chevy engine, we used a T-junction to put two temp sensors onto the outlet housing, the sensors read too cold by about 10-15 degrees compared to the actual coolant temp

Bobby's talking an inline fitting assortment in the heater hose or whatever hose that' has coolant passing through it constantly... as long as it's near the water pump outlet this method should work fine.

Bobby, you should have specified 4 cylinder then, which is where the confusion comes in... i've owned my 89 5L for the last 7-8 years, and pulled the motor out several times, i've also done tonnes of work on an old friend's 88 5L, the only difference between the two, under the hood, was the lack of the MAF (as 88 was speed density)

90% of the time, when someone refers to a mustang, it is assumed the reference as to the 5L as that is MUCH more popular of a motor than the 4cyl or 6...

coincidentally, i came across this picture of mine, last night
intake.jpg

before you think any further, it wasn't that i thought you were talking out of your ass, on the contrary, i trust your judgment on technical aspects, i more thought you had made a mistake in the model, or a typo in year or such... i'm sure you would agree that even the most astute minds make a simple mistake once in a while...
