won't start

Well I went and fixed the exhaust and throttle cable and now the dam thing won't start. Battery is good, terminals clean, and connections are secure. The solenoid just clicks. It did it randomly bust still started. Now it clicks but don't start. I can push start it and dump the clutch and it starts. Any ideas? I'm also dsparked so I know its not a tfi issue. Where do I start?

sounds like your starter relay took a dump. quick easy fix. If it's clicking at the starter, its jamming up. just get underneath it and give a light smack with the hammer.

3 posts on the solenoid.
If you jumper the small one to the closest big lug, does it crank?
If so, the little wire isn't getting power from the ignition switch, through the clutch switch or auto trans neutral switch.

If the above does not work, replace the solenoid.

If it doesn't crank with the two large posts jumpered (expect a big spark), starter may be bad, or that cable to the starter.

Or the battery is weak.

I don't even have a nuetral saftey o clutch interlock switch. Got rid of all of that when I duaspaked it about 6 months ago. Its been woking fine eve since. Even with the 5spd swap. The clicking I'm gettng is from the solenoid, not the starte. I've whacked the starter to see if it helped and didn't. Even tapped the solenoid. The battery is good and I've even hooked it to a jump box

maybe try putting 12 volts right to the starter? from the jump box so its totally isolated from the issues you may have up in the wiring or the solenoid.

If it starts when you jump the two terminals, it sounds like the solenoid is bad. Easy fix! Or else as Earl said, it may not be getting juice from the ignition wire to the solenoid
