Wohlf 16's 99 Ranger build

Thanks yeah I want to crank my tbars and want a way to level it out in the back.
I love your ranger but mine has to be a daily driver haha. I cant wait to see yours when its done.

So I finally got my pics off my real camera. Picks of it being erected. Thought I had pics of us yankin it out with the tractor but I guess not. My dads in the red. He told me to sit in the driver seat and push on the ebrake if it got outa control. Hes 52 so that lasted about one pull and I told him to stop and I would help pull it.

Had to make my daily driver look tiny. Its on 33s with a body lift. 01 4.0 manual 5spd 4wd.

Ok these were taken today. Finished up 63inch chevy swap and they achieved about 0 lift. Havent taken out the overload yet so there stiff as spit and I had to remove the 2 inch lift block. Im not worried tho cause im gonna put longr shackles and it looks like im gonna have to use a block whether I like it or not.

I know your in just in the build phase but backwards boggers?

I've been wondering the same thing about the boggers. Sweet truck by the way!

i have heard people mounting the front tires backward so they have the same traction backing out of a hole.

I never even payed attention to the tread when I was putting them on. The way I chose to put them on was whatever one was on the top of the pile was goin on first and so on. But if it makes everyone feel better I will swap left to right before driving. Given you guys a hard time cause you guys arent the first to give me shit. Had a guy from work stop by the house and he pointed it out.

Got a question tho. Are there any axle shafts that are six lug that will swap out with a nine inch rear? When I was doin my leaf spring swap I noticed the spacers on the drivers side of the 8.8 are already coming loose. Would really like to stick with the 6 lug pattern cause I really like my wheels.

just get some adapters. alot of people say they wont hold but i have yet to see any fail. and if they have, it was most likely some jackass jumping there truck in the desert.

by the way, try the tires the way they are. see if they do better or worse backwards.

Alright I know if I keep at this pace im gonna have 4 year plus ranger like toredranger(I think thats how he does it)! Just kiddn! Anyways drilled a hole in the frame so that I could hold the box in place and later drill the rest of the holes. Wifes really cool but only been married for less than a month so i dont wanna push my luck.

Alright these crazy pics are of the I think 3/16th steel that im gonna reinforce the frame with. After I get the holes drilled in the frame Im gonna drill holes in the steel and take metal sleeves and weld them in line with the holes. I am then gonna make a bigger hole in the frame to slide the entire sleeve threw and run it through the back steel that has holes in it. and weld all the way around the steel attaching it to the frame. I would get shots of this crap while im doing it but Im usually home alone. If I remeber I will take pics of it before its on the frame and welded up.

Oh about the bolt pattern thing, Im gonna just switch it to the 5x5.5 that the 9inch has. Gonna take the ends off of a junk yard ford dana 44 and swap them in. Neighbor that gave me the nine inch swapped his fronts out for 8 lug and gave his stock stuff away for free. Sad that im gonna have to sell the wheels but I will prolly make enough selling the stuff im not gonna use to buy new wheels. By the way when that happens I will have an 8.8, 5x4.5 to 6x5.5 adapters, locker for an 8.8, 15x10 6x5.5 aluminum wheels, and prolly a drive shaft for sale.

got a question in progress of sas on 85 regular cab and using a dana 30 out of jeep. What front leaf springs are the ones u are using if u dont mind me asking. Thought about using some from a 88 model toyota.

That truck is gonna be a beast!!! im putting 40s on my explore!

The leafs im using are superlift 6inch lift springs for an 87 and older 1/2,3/4, or 1ton chevy. They are 48 inches or 52 inches in length and are 2.5 inches wide. But the crappy part is they are stiff as hell! If I was you and had that year of truck I would use coils. Believe me if you think doing leaves will be easier your in for a treat. Took me months of trial and error to figure out how I wanted the leaves. Hey its your build tho do what you want dont get discouraged either. I cant count all the times that I said I was just gonna part it out and forget about it.
Thanks bombsquad! Im starting to like the look of big friggin explorers so I expect to see a build thread when you get er goin. Theres a guy up the road from me thats got about a 98 explorer on a 3/4 ton frame with I believe a 460 under the hood. He took the easy route but it still looks badass. Good luck to you as well.

nice rangers man i wanna do a sas on my 99 but thatll b a few years gotta get thru nashville auto diesel 1st.
