WMS to WMS width of full width ford D44


4.10 is borderline inadequate for 33" tires (I have that combo on my Ranger). At the very minimum you want 4.88 gears for 35" tires.
 
Unless you want to bust rural speed limits by wide margins (which I'm not sure would be real safe in a big lifted truck on 36s anyway), 5.13 would be what I'd go with.
 
I run 456 with 35's, but I have an auto...I originally was going to run 488's, but I couldn't find the 488's for the D35 at the time I did mine, so I went 456, wish I would have went 513's to start with. I have decent power, but its my mileage that suffered, I averaged about 15 mpg with 456s and 35s, and I've heard of members running 488s and 35s getting as much as 19 mpg...definitely run the 513's as that is what I'm building my new axles with
