How tall is it? Can it fit in a parking garage? I was under the impression this was for local driving and less for longer distances. ie More stop and go les highway.
As you perhaps know, its original market has been/was in Europe, and I believe, primarily for small businesses. The vehicle is narrow and has a short enough wheel base to negotiate the narrow, twisty streets of Europe. (Turkey is its home base at least until Ford determines that the US can support its own assembly plant).
The van configuration would be for small businesses here in the States. In fact, there are several utility packages manufactured for small businesses for the van models. Here in the Yakima, WA, area, Pacific Power (utility company) and Budweiser use them. We found out about TransConns by chance, spent time learning a little on the Internet, test drove a
van model at a dealership but knew we needed more windows and wanted the back seat -- the
wagon model -- more for regular vehicle (rather than business) use. Also wanted back-up sensor, daytime running lights, silver color and those features we found in the wagon model. We took advantage of 2010 dealer closeout and found the silver one in Montana.
It's just a smidgeon taller than our '04 F150 -- website says 79+ inches; I spaced out and backed out before the garage door was completely UP (operator error). I'm about 5 feet tall and can just about stand up inside!
While the small business use would be for in-town, stop and go driving, it's comfortable enough for long distances, too. We picked it up in Bozeman, MT, and drove it back to central WA state, and I was very comfortable. I will be making lots of trips to 2 places, one 85 miles away and the other about 175 miles away and have no hesitation about doing so.
