I bought a 2004 Ranger Edge to tow behind a motorhome. Tow bar, base plate and brake system are taken care of but I am not clear on how to hook the two light systems together. Can I simply connect the 4 wire plug on the motorhome to the 4 wire plug at the rear of the pickup or is there a way to hook up under the hood or do I need to deal with diodes or what? I need some good ol' TRS wisdom. Any sites address this issue? TIA, Bruce

The easiest cheapest thing to do is to buy a set of magnetic towing lights.

I did an 07 escape a few months back at work. We ordered a wiring kit for this application that had the diodes and everything in a prewired harness that you just had to tie into the tail lights and then run a wire up to the front for the 4 pin. Very slick and worked like a charm.
