I believe the rear defrost on my 88 Bronco 2 needs the grid itself replaced, however it would be nice to have a diagram showing the wiring, switch, relay, etc. that feeds the heating grid on the back window. Any place to find this? My Haynes manual doesn't seem to have anything of use for this.

I hope these are readable. 1988 EVTM.

To test the circuit you can unhook the wires from the glass and hook up a light bulb in place of the grid and flip the switch.

That will tell you for sure if the grid is bad.

Thanks guys, I'll work on this little project hopefully next weekend, weather is supposed to be in the high 60's low 70's woohoo....I can work on that while the transmission fluid is draining. Waiting on a replacement transmission pan with a drain plug to make future services much easier and less messy HAHA!!!

The light on the switch turns on when I flip the switch on, but the defrost grid never heats up, which could be something I did as the connectors weren't attached to the window when I got the vehicle they were just dangling back there....so I have no idea if anything works back there or not, those diagrams and the testing idea will definitely help this project along to find out what all needs done, if I can simply order a replacement grid stick kit, or if I need to dig into the wiring as well.

If you replace the grid and it works, I'd like to know which one you ordered.

I will see what I find out with the wiring, switch, relay, etc. hopefully this weekend and go from there. I'm actually hoping it is the grid, it would be much easier than dealing with wiring issues LOL.

My grid is trashed. Previous owner tore it up pretty good. I tried the liquid patch but there's just too many bad spots.
