Ok, I suck at the electricalzity.

I'm wiring up a back-up light, basic 55W little light. All is in place, grounded properly with stupid large wire for the juice it will be carrying.

I got this neat little rocker switch, illuminated. Looks just like this, with an extra O and I. Really clean.

It has 3 prongs ... and I can't figure out how to wire it to save my life. Of course there are no instructions, who would be dumb enough to not know how to wire that stuff?

Now I do have a volt-meter thing, so I was able to figure out how to close the circuit, prongs 2 and 3. So using these 2, I can close the circuit, light up the back-up light ... but the switch isn't illuminated, and I'm not using the last prong (I tried grounding it, no difference)

I tried wiring ... power comes in on prong 1, prong 2 is ground and prong 3 goes to the back-up light ... but it just did not work.

mmmh ... help?

One is ground, one is power, one is switched power.

Here's a pic, cuz explaining it may get confusing....

Mmmmh, this is exactly how I have it wired.

Maybe I was fooled and it's not an illuminated switch after all???

edit - just checked, and there is indeed a diode in there. Crap.

Bulb in the switch may be loose, missing or burnt out...seen it before.

Meh, that's odd. I'll go pick up some extra ones ... at 1$ each, it doesn't really matter.

Thanks, at least now I know I got the wiring right. :)
