Wipers- The extra sweep

I hate this feature and want to get rid of it. Why you ask?

On long trips during the summer months it's bad enough trying to keep the windshield clean of bugs alone. This extra sweep just smears freshly splattered bugs making vision worst...what a stupid idea.

So is there a solution to stop it?

Install a giant bug zapper on the front of your truck?

Dont use the wipers, just when you stop for fuel or bathroom use the squeegee. Or keep one on you with some windex. (Maybe watered down windex) Rainex or wax could help keep the bugs from sticking,

Its a feature that is suppose to clean any water splatter left over. To tell the truth, it doesn't work too well. I like the old fashion press and hold till clean method.

You probably will have to replace the wiper control box with a older model to get rid of that feature.

wait... you mean after you use the washer fluid and they do that one last sweep across the windshield? wire in a simple toggle switch to power your washer fluid pump... turn it on and off as you please.

and i thought it was a cool feature.. ha!
