Wiper Problem

My wiper motor went out on the B2. I replaced it with a junkyard unit, but now if I turn the wipers off at anywhere but the parked position, they stop wherever they are!

What controls the return feature? Is it part of the motor or something in the truck electronics?

i am not positive on the ranger and bII but i know most stuff i have worked on has been the motor
