Wiper Motor Wiring

99 Ranger Ext Cab 4.0 4wd, looking to see if anybody can provide me with a wiring diagram for the wiper motor. Specifically looking to know what color wire is what function.

I don't have a diagram, but see some troubleshooting info. Are you having a problem with it? It's wiring and functions are tied into the GEM module.

The truck is completely gutted and I’m looking to get the motor to work using a toggle switch without any of the factory wiring except the pigtail off the motor. Got it to function correctly. Hooked it up on a single pole double throw switch.
Red wire 12v ignition on line side of switch.
Blue with orange stripe wire low speed. Load side #1
White wire high speed. Load side #2
Blue wire park switch. Park is on the low speed leg of switch as older motors were wired the same I believe.
Black wire ground. Thought that was correct but I’m stumped because the wiring gets warm when the motors powered on. I’m wondering if it’s supposed to be grounded from the motor housing. And the black wire is for intermittent function.
Truck has 351w with a zf5
With Dana 60 and 10.5 sterling.
Was hoping to get it to work with the original wiper motor and linkage. The dash and steering column have been swapped out for one I fabbed up, so I don’t have the original multifunction switch.

I still can't find a diagram for that year. But I will tell you most wiper motors have a key on power wire that goes directly to the wiper motor, not through the wiper switch. The wiper switch does get another key on power wire, but that wire just starts the motor working, and carries it through the parking area of the motor park cam switch. The key on power going directly to the motor is what really runs the motor through 90% of it's travel. That is so when you turn the switch to off, the wiper motor will still run till it gets to the parking area where it will stop if the switch is off.

I will warn you, do your testing with the wipers installed and rubbing the windshield. If you test it with no load on the wiper motor, the motor will have a tendency to "coast through" the parking area and once it does that, it will keep on running and never stop.

Hey, from your wiring color descriptions, I think I found a diagram.

From the diagram above, you will want to run a key on hot wire directly to the red.

Your dash switch will have another key on hot feeding it, and then going to the blue/orange and the white for the speeds, with a center off to turn the wipers off.

The tricky part is going to be the black wires on the motor. I am not sure this motor will work correctly without the park relay wired in.

Here is a older version in another Ford truck. This is how they did it without a GEM module. I am wondering if you can take some of the black wires loose, and run them around to feed the 12v to the motor. It would take some experimenting.

The wiper motor pigtail is
Red 12v
Black Ground
Blue Park
White High
Blue with orange stripe Low
Will experiment until it get it right
Motor runs with the two speed wires hooked up on a single pole double throw switch. 12v supplied to red wire. Black is ground. Park will work when hooked up to either low or high and work on both no matter what leg of the switch it is hooked to. Wire gets hot when running if hooked up (park wire). I don’t believe that first diagram was correct as it doesn’t have a blue wire coming out of the motor. I’m thinking I can use a 5pin relay and get it to function without the park wire overheating
