Windshield Wiper Problem

Hi. I have a 96 ranger with the 2.3 L engine, and manual transmission. The wipers are the intermittent type and won't operate until approximately 5 minutes after turning the switch on. I don't know if it's something heating up causing them to turn on or a faulty electrical connection. Anyone else experienced this? Thanks in advance.

Could be a bad switch...if they actually work after a few minutes then it may be something to do with cold weather...

On my 88 Ranger I've had to change the column switch at least once...not difficult to do on mine but not familiar with the setup on the later models...you might try changing the switch if you can find one in the wreckers...
