Windshield Polish?

The morning sun is really bringing out the very small chips and scratches in the windshields of our vehicles. Is there a good product available to "polish" the surface of the glass to bring the surface back to near new?

You don't "polish" glass. That will just leave thousands of tiny scratches that you can see from the inside.

One of the guys I work with tried it. It didn't work.

i know what you're talking about. in my case i just clean the glass inside and out and it remains clean and clear for a couple days.

I ended up just getting a new windshield. Of course at that point when you turned towards the sun it was literally like looking through frosted glass, you couldn't see anything.

Trucks! did an episode a while back where they polished the windshield on a C10 using a kit from Eastwood.

That is not the kind of polish he is looking for. That is for removing hard water marks.

The Eastwood stuff is more like what the OP is looking for, but I'm wary of that stuff myself.

I ended up just replacing with a new windshield. brought the internal temp down about 15 degrees. the lamination between the glass was toast.

I usually end up with a broken windshield before they wear out....

Your best bet is to replace the scratched glass though.

Windshield Polish

I know its very irritating when you see such scratches and stain on your car's windshield in the early morning. I believe you should use what I am currently using its Ultima Detail Spray Plus for cleaning windshield.

wax duh. Wax fills the cracks and helps prevent more cracks from starting. Wax is king.
