windshield pegs?

well i took my windshield out because it was really spider cracked. but there are these little pegs around the windshield with clips on them? theres about a dozen pegs but i only have about 7 clips what are they for? i figured to hold the window trim in place but im not sure?

Yep, holds the trim clips in place ('83-'92)

ok thanks i wasnt sure what they were for. but now i know lol. could i put the new windshield before i put those clips back on because i dont have all the clips? or will it be a pita?

I think you're actually supposed to put the glass in first (it's secured with urethane adhesive), then the clips, then the trim.
