Window Break Rant

i looked at the policy and i don't have glass coverage. I'm thinkin of doing a junkyard run tomorrow to get one if i can. install shouldn't be too hard...i hope
Because it looks like an act of vandalism, they may cover it anyway. Never hurts to ask.

If it's any help, the Carlite part number for that back slider is DB10838.

I know this because last summer I did a temp gig at a auto glass wholesaler (PGW) and we shipped out quite a few of those.

I also know that the P/N for a replacement windshield is for a 93-97 Ranger is DW 1150 or DW1205.

Good old NAGS numbers, simple when you know how to deal with them.

Yeah. They're easy, once you figure out the difference between a BZN, BBN, & GGN suffex!

It's some of those 'shileds that are a PITA to handle, like one for a Internatioal 4200 that's only an inch narrower than the asile and on the top shelf of a rack?

Oh, incase anybody cares, the number for a Jeep shile is 1408. One of the smallest ones we stocked.

That's how they always go. I had to shuffle some at my work. They had Edge and Super Duty ones up top and Focus and Ranger ones at the bottom. I was chapped until I went through them:icon_rofl:

Ok. Time to give you guys a resolution. I got a new window finally. I went solid instead of slider. My uncle who's a body guy, talked to his dealer's guy guy and got hooked up with a freebie! It's all installed now and good to go. Just gotta get cleaned and then some pics will be up, during the daytime.

I usually break windows when they have apple stickers on them.....KIDDING OF COURSE. You can replace that back window for 100 bucks and some free time used to swap. Hit the salvage yard asap before it rains. If I recale correctly under the weatherstripping are screws that hold the window in place(IMO shitty design but makes for an easy project)

You're only 17, right? That would explain why. I know for me at least its like $1300 for bare minimum, basically only covers the people in the truck. Adding glass coverage would have cost me more than the glass would cost to replace(unless those little ones really are $1000, damn). I dont know what insurance rates are like down there but i can imagine the situation is probably similar

yeah it's a lot like that. Luckily, I have a few connections in the car biz so I got my window for free. And you definitely can't beat that. I know those little windows are crazy expensive so I'm just glad it was the rear. But it's all settled now, so I'm glad I was blessed with that.

That sucks, could have been a smash and snatch that got scared off?

I have one that is for the 93+ extended cabs & will also fit the 98 + std cabs. I bought it sused for $75 & was told it would fit the 93- current std cabs. well due to the distance to drive to get it I took My Metro& when I got home I found out the guy was wrong. Its the dark factory tint like yours was. I will let you have it for $60 plus shipping cost. Missed the fact that you already got one
