Winch mounting ... front? rear?

I have a locking pin. And there is NO room to get a tool into cut my pin. If you really wanted my winch you could torch the pin, but other than that. Good luck.

Bottom line, my winch lives up front. He only ever see back door action when absolutely necessary.

But He love the back door.
Sorry I had to say it.:icon_cheers:

I'm in a bit of a dilemma here.

I need to re-do my winch mount, as it's just not sturdy enough. It sits up front.

I encourage you to just get creative, and imaginative, and some other-tive, and dream yourself up something you will be happy with.
I'm envisioning something that you could build out of plate and some 4x4x1/4 tubing with a receiver welded on it to go behind your bumper, then you just have to cut a small hole in your bumper for the receiver.

I have no problem with mine being an ugly tough hunk of tubing because it's my 4x4 truck, not my DD.

Better yet, put it on the roof, on your cool roof rack, on a swivel. Everybody will be jealous because you can winch EVERY direction.

Roof rack is reserved for this.

Perhaps something like this to go behind your bumper? then you can just notch a square grove/hole in your bumper or front tin just above the bumper for the 'receptical'

A hand held gattling gun with the bullets painted together? hmmmmmm., jj

Receivers

I have custom bumpers front and read with receivers in each and both are wired for my 8000' winch, can email pic's too you.

I've got a receiver in the front and back, but have never moved the winch to the front. There is a reason you stop going forward ya know. I cut away some of my bed and the winch stays in the rear mount. This way it did not affect departure angles which is important to me since I bobbed the bed.

No hitch foolishness.

First it kills departure and approach angles (unless they are integrated with a custom bumper)

Second, I am not carrying all 100lbs of winch around.

It gets mounted and stays where it is.

umm if you mount it to a hitch insert then you can take it off and put it in the front
