I am trying to replace the hub covers on the 89 B2. I am planning on a buying a set from someone on here. The problem is, the ones on the b2 now screw onto the rim. The ones I want to buy are the newer style that snap onto the lugnuts.

So, can anyone tell me, is the thread size and pitch the same on say a 1989 as it is say a 2000 model truck? If I have him send me the lugs with the caps, will the lugs fit my studs?

I am thinking they will, but want to double check.

yes they will, all of the rangers were 1/2-20 thread lugs.

Wouldn't the new ones be metric studs now? I know my 05 sport trac has metric studs

then someone replaced your studs with metric.

all rangers use 1/2-20.

I've never changed them. Must just be the explorers that use the metric studs then?

Actual from looking online at some different places selling lug nuts it seems in 03 they changed to metric studs.

Thanks... These are from a 98.

if it was '03 then it was for the '04 model year, or it was only on the explorers because my GF's '03 ranger still uses the 1/2-20.

All Rangers use the 1/2" x 20 lugs. The Explorers changed in with the newer body style in '02 I believe.

I am running '03 lugs on my '86 BII with the clip on center caps.

The one's im looking at are off an explorer. 1998 year I think. Do the lugs work with the alloy wheels? Your using the ones with the snap on plastic covers? Did you have to cut out the centers for the hubs?

The lugs you are looking at will be fine, I think it was '02 that they changed to metric with the new body style.

If you find a set of center caps off a '93-'97 4wd, they have the opening for the hubs. My center caps came off of a '95 4wd.

They will work with alloy wheels.

Any photos of yours on the b2?

I will snap you a couple this evening when I get home from work.

Any pics yet?

Sorry, I will definitely get you some up after work today. It was a crazy evening.
