Got a 92 explorer that i tipped on its side. i want to put a 95 or 96 body on the frame but not quite sure if it will fit. anybody got any experiance or knowlege for me before i make any purchases?

Good question... I believe the 95 front clip will bolt on a 94 front and that would make me tend to believe that is should work. I believe the only chassis change was the IFS... as I said, I believe.

i second this if your going to do this find out the wheelbase of both and be ready to make a shitload of modifications

Damn. I have a 95 Ex and just scrapped a '92 Ex. I could have made some measurements for you. whoops

well 91-94 and 95-01 wheelbases are the same i know that 91-94 2door wheelbase is 102.1" and the 4 door wheelbase is 111.9 i googled it and the 95-01 wheelbases are 102"(2 door) and 112"(4 door) should work just have to deal with wiring and such

Ya the wheel base is the same. just wondering mainly if body mounts line up and such.

good link. thanks that answers lots of my questions. don't mind any of the wiring, just didn't want to mess with body mounts. what does that mean when you say you have a Trash locked 8.8. Welded? if so tell me how that's holding up.

It means, a stock track lock that is worn out, and doesn't work. (Most didn't work that well anyway) hence the self deprecating term, trash lock.

oh. mine works good in sand, mud, and pavement(in low gear). never herd that before. thanks anyway.

:icon_cheers:I am pretty sure that it would work, my friend did it with little problems!
