The 2.5 is still a Lima engine. So I'm gonna say yes, physically.

It will physically bolt on. It looks like both trucks use the same transmission from what I gather from the Tech Library. So, you will probably be good to go. Dig through the tech library just to make sure I haven't missed anything.

Everything will work except you won't have a spot to hook up your speedometer cable since that was removed around '98

Make sure you get the shift stick off the newer one. Your '92 stick will not fit the 2000 transmission. They changed in '98.
