wierd fuel/electrical problem

okay i have good news and bad your messing with the eec power relay.lol
the two relays should be right beside each other. the eec has two yellow one to a fusible link and the other to pin #1 on the ecu.the red should be 12V it seems to go topin#54the red light green comes from the ignition switch, the black and light green go to ground.

The fuel pump relay has tan light green that connects to pin #22 the red again joins pin#54orange light blue goes to pin#8 and the other orange with light blue goes to the inertia switch the yellow goes to the fusible link.

from the inertia switch the pump power all the way back ispink and black

i got this info from my mitchell electrical book, i found loads of wiring discrepancies till i got this book.

and try bypassing the inertia switch completely see if that works mine tested okay but it kept tripping i tought little rocks were hitting myy windsheild but it was the switch tripping. good luck

well damn, that sucks. that certainly explains why i thought it was the fuel pump relay...but why would i have continuity to the inertia switch from wires on the eec power relay?
is the fuel pump relay the green one then? cause the one i have been messing with the brown one lol

so i found the right relay(yay!) and saw that the wires were right(yay!) and unplugged the relay.
found that the wall between the red and yellow wire had shattered, and the red wire was loose in the plug, u can pull it right out. im guessing this was causing a short between power and ground. seeing as how this is the first problem ive found, i ordered a new plug from ford that might be here tomorrow, and i will start my new diagnosis from there.
thank you so much to HndMeDnBroncoII!!! for telling me i was testing the wrong relay lol

glad i could help whille you are getting the plug pick up a new relay as well (the relay will work for either the fuel or eec) so u have a spare.and it was mitchell that has the correct wire colour info.

im not sure yet, i havent put the new plug in. im gonna get a fuel pump relay for it tomorrow and splice the plug in tomorrow night w/ the new relay and se what happens.

nope not fixed, still cutting out on me. almost daily
im gonna pull it ni the shop at work and try to mess with it tonight, jiggle wires and connecters and stuff
it wouldnt be so bad if it would do it when i was actually at work or at my dads, so i could diagnose it more lol
its to the point where im having to find something else to drive cause i cant depend on this thing, nor diagnose it

update: started up the truck and jiggled wires and connectors, even traced the power back to the fusible link off the starter solenoid...ran just fine lol didnt stutter or stumble once. i even took a hammer and been the frome and bracket for the high pressure fuel pump to see if there was just a short or something in that and still ran fine
