Why lift?

so i can work on it without jacks or stands? so i can find my truck in a parking lot?

agreed! t-case swap was so easy, i lowered it onto my chest and scooted out, same installation is reverse of removal..

in the parking lots at college i forget where i park ALL THE TIME, cuz its a different lot everyday.. its nice to be able to find it easier..

those are the only 2 reasons. :dntknw:

- Because we can.

- Its a daily reminder of the difference between us and the 90% of America that drives the same as everyone else... stock vehicles. Like one of the first guys said - if you have to ask, then you wouldn't understand. My best bud is a Jeep guy, and they have a line "Its a Jeep Thing, You Wouldn't Understand." I bust his balls for it, but its 100% true.

- Oh, and to go over big rocks & stuff. Offroading is just plain fun.

- So we can drive on snowcovered roads during a blizzard while your neighbor in his stock truck sits at home watching you play.

I could come up with dozens more reasons.

I have a feeling that this is going to be a long thread

I agree!

The main reason I lifted mine was because I work construction and one day while going over some house pads a guy was chasing me down to hand me back my front license plate that got ripped off over a little berm.

After that day I said to myself "self, you've gotta lift your truck so you'll stop hitting your undercarriage"!

Nuff said!

Because fat chicks can't jump
:word:
Also to fit bigger tires so you can off-road better with less chance of damage.
Also because most trucks flat-out look better that way.

Not mine:

I like mine better.

Guy you remind me of a lot of other people who ask that question.People who don't own a 4x4 or go off roadin will not understand why us guys like to lift and mod the trucks. i do know there are a couple of guys who lift just to look tough but there is alot of guys here who "use" the lifted trucks for a purpose and myself included and unless your an off roader you will never understand but i do understand and respect anyother ideas or activities people like to do with their car or truck.

im done

So peoples headlights aren't in you eyes, from the front or rearview mirror.

When you get rear ended, you don't get body damage.

I was at prom last year and some lady was haullin ass behind me at night with out her headlights on. I went for a lane change with the legal amount of blinker and she creamed right into rear drivers side tire. Her fender got jacked up and her hood buckled, and I got a scuff on my old pro comps but that was the extent of the damage.

We would have made an issue out of it but she was driving on a suspended license and I had 2 other people in my truck. (In CO, For the first 6 months of having your license you're not allowed to carry anyone. After the first 6 you can carry one person. After a year the sky is the limit. Big ticket if you get busted)

why lift? to have a shady place to sit on a hot day at work.

Yeah LBF the first pic is Spring Creek, the second is the stair step on Chinamans, the third is on Independance(When the SAS is done on the Ranger I WILL RUN INDY!!!!!!!!)

Dude, you got balls if you want to run INDY. I think the only i'd ride that is in a rig that's not mine. lol

Like everyone else said. Its what we do. there is no explaining it, the sensation of going where truely few have gone before, exploring the backwoods of places people cant imagine. And i think we all are probably just a little loco. But hey crazies alright.

So I can clear the speed bumps in the grocery store parking lot without damaging the undercarriage............since my truck is just a grocery-getter :headbang:

Plus, it also makes it easier to go on trails like this

and this
cal3.jpg

without getting hung up on the crossmember, skid plates, frame, diffs, & bumpers, then having to get yanked out of something like this lowrider Jeep
sla16.jpg

because it doesn't have enough ground clearance.

That's Why :tease::derisive:

Because they don't plow my street, and i needed more clearance. That plus bigger tires just means more fun off-road.

Also Littlebigfoot, if your over 18 that law doesnt apply to you. Also if your under 18 you can drive people over 21 even if you had your license for less then 6 months.
