why does my car shake when i reach 55mph

it seams like my truck shakes and it is just happening on the right side.. i thought my tire was loose but i tightend it and it still does it.. Y?

Your may have lost some wheel weights used to balance the tire -it could be something in your tire like a nail or bolt - or the rim might be bent - did hit a curb/rock/mountain ?

I got the same prob and im 95% sure that its tire balance related. My shaking smooths out and goes away when i hit 70 though, its weird.

yea i may have hit a rock or too.. but it didnt start shakaing tell like two weeks later

It may have taken a while for the weights to fall off in some cases with radial tires the belts can shift - see if you can get someone to follow you down the road and watch - if you both have cell phones you can tell the other driver when it starts happening.

The wheels could be out of balance, the toe could be out of wack, u-joints, wheel bearings, etc.

Something that feels a lot like an unbalanced tire is a slight flat spot from panic braking. No cure but to replace. Jack the wheels off the ground and watch for up/down variation while spinning it.

Well, mine problem was what i thought it was, tire balance. Im missing every single one of my weights on the passenger side front tire.

Mine was broken belts in the tire from jumping... Most likely just a balance problem like everyone else is saying.
