The 1991 GMC Syclone is a legendary high performance pickup built by Chevy on the S ten platform.. It featured a 4.3L turbocharged V6, all-wheel drive, and produced 280 hp, accelerating from 0–60 mph in 4.3–5.3 seconds. It was the fastest production truck of its time, produced in limited numbers, but it could even beat out a Ferrari. Why can't Ford have one?

That and the suv were both awesome.

The closest i could afford was my old 98 sonoma with the zq8 sport package. Single cab, step side, red, and 5 speed, like my ranger.

The zq8 package gave you those nice wide rims and low profile tires. It also came lowered from the factory with larger sway bars than a non zq8 package truck.

You could also get a model called an "xtreme" that looked similar to the zq8 package but had a factory body kit, on top of the zq8 stuff.

I really liked my sonoma. I had the small 4 cylinder engine so it was fun and got great gas mileage. Their stepside bed was a good bit wider inside then my ranger stepside so it was alot easier to find toolboxes and camper shells that fit on marketplace
 
The s10/sonoma felt alot more like a car than my rangers ever did. The interiors were not utilitarian like the ranger and you sat very very low in those. The seats were wide and soft, barely off the floor
 
Ford likely would of half assed it like they did the Gen 1 lightning. I know that will piss alot of people off but GM basically dumped their biggest motor in the lightest platform they had at the time that would eaisly accept it (454 SS) and Ford, despite having the 460 sitting right there decided to heat up a 351 for it.

....and dodge was pumping out V8 dakotas.

I never understood ford shying away from dumping in the big cubes. All the way back to the 60s even.
 
Yeah, Ford seems to have a hearing problem or something when it comes to listening to the community. Or a disconnect problem or something. Like “I hear what you’re saying but I don’t think you actually mean that.”

Perfect example is the Bronco. At least twice since production of the FSB stopped in the 90’s until the re-release of the Bronco, Ford tried to give us essentially the Bronco Sport. The community said no, we want something more like a modernized Early Bronco. So they gave us both but arguably did a bit of half-arse to the Bronco like usual. Sales skyrocketed anyway but it was like Ford said, oh, well, we don’t want this taking over from F-150 sales so we won’t try too hard. Dumb.

I don't get Ford, either. God forbid anything truck related outsell the F-series trucks, and anything car related outsell the Musta... Oh, yeah. They killed their entire non-truck lineup. They even tried killing off the Mustang with that soulless blob of an EV, and now they want to make it into a pickup. 🤣

The 454SS truck wasn't as fast as the 351 Lightning, based on what I saw several times at New England Dragway.
 
You might try driving a Ranger Raptor, if you can find one.
