Whose Ranger is this?

I saw this in the Tech area, and I wanted to see more of the build on this one if possible. Thanks!:yahoo:

That snorkel looks like the periscope of one of the subs I was on....lol. That is a real wind grapper and that snorkel looks like it might interfere with peripheral vision to the right of the truck. If I was going to run one I would use the right setup with the type that slants backward and attaches to the fender and up the window frame of the truck. This does not interfere with your peripheral vision. I have driven several Jeeps and trucks that my buddies had with a snorkel and they used the correct type of snorkel and looked way better than that. Just my .02 cents worth.

I'll take all opinions. I just think it looks pretty sexy and well done.

Never been around one on a truck but they (and the exhaust) are good at hiding things on a tractor... especially pedestrians or motorcycles.

+1 on everything said. Bend that thing and run it up the pillar....

No, there is a very good practical application for it. I am betting he did it without thinking about the visability aspect of it though.

My 4020 has something like that... :icon_rofl:

perhaps he doesnt use his peripherals whilst driving

Actually it was a kid driving a 4010 two years ago that really woke me up about that.

He turned in front of a motorcycle he was meeting and killed the guy. Sitting on the seat of a 4010/early 4020 you will note how well the fat muffler hides things you are meeting. Even the late ones do it but they have a slimmer muffler.

With the greater offset of the 4430 exhaust in dad's 4020 both the exhaust pipe and air stack line up to create a HUGE blind spot, you have to really lean to and fro to make sure their ain't nothing hiding.

I am a little off center here but you get the idea:

I agree about the blind spot. I find the rear-view mirror in most vehicles is a great[not] blind spot for me. Probably worse than a 3-4" tube on the fender.

Yep... I can deal with the 4020 style stuff though, its the bastardized sound gard cabs on the 4430's, etc, that I have a really big problem with...

I never really minded them, especially compared to the competition.
