- My credo
- In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
You won't get me to agree to that statement. But it's a matter of personal taste. Digital cameras have made photography much more convenient and much less expensive. That's definitely true. If you're really trying to take good or great photos, you still deal with shutter speed, f-stops, etc., even "iso" settings. Lighting, focus, framing, depth of field are all still relevant unless all you want are "decent" snapshots to share. There are qualities to good film photography that are difficult to achieve with digital. My dad taught me how to run a darkroom and I enjoyed it. Of course, Photoshop is faster, cheaper and easier.Digital imaging is better than film photography. That's a no-brainer,
Serious photography is artwork. You have to know your tools and how to use them. Everyone has their favorite tools and techniques.
