White Christmas ??

how are the roads in Tulsa now? I'm leaving Edmond tomorrow morning to be in Owasso by noon for more family Christmas stuff. It was pretty nasty here yesterday afternoon but a lot of it has been cleared.

Tinker AFB reported 14" but I dont feel like I saw any more than 6-8" between Edmond and Norman.

White Christmas? What's that? :icon_confused:
It's raining off & on here with 40 mph wind gusts, supposed to see a few storms later tonight.

"White Chrismas" a grotesquely flawed idea pf pointless culture
initiated by a stupid song recorded over 50years ago.

Except for a very small part of the united states (mountain states and Minnesota and North Dakota) a "white christmas" is evidence of either an approaching iceage, God handing us something appropriate to pack in Al Gore's mouth (and an other convenient body cavities and orifices that the imaginative might come across) to shut him up or simply an "early snow"
with no particular meaning. :annoyed:

Every time I hear the phrase, the song or the words in print I want to dig up Bing Crosby and make him shovel my ****ing driveway, but I think old Bing was cremated to prevent myself or other like minded person from doing that.

Then again.... if any of the states btween Georgia and california actually
GOT a "white christmas" there'd be fierce competetion to render Al Gore for his Blubber so they could burn it to keep warm...

Ok, so go ahead... keep wishing for a white cristmas...

yep, made it, thanks for asking. I've done entirely too much driving this week, even for dry roads.

The inlaws family Christmas thing in Tulsa that was supposed to happen on Saturday got moved to Sunday so we wouldn't have to leave Edmond at 7:30AM...so we took off around 10AM Saturday morning and got home a little after 2, for what's usually a 2 hour drive...relaxed the rest of the day.

The I-44 turnpike was not only completely clear, but actually dry all the way to Tulsa. Then it seems as though in it's budget crisis Tulsa had sold all but 1 or 2 snow plows. So it took about an hour and 45min to get to Tulsa, and then the rest of the time to get through Tulsa and on to Pryor.

Then we drove in to Tulsa today, and it was all pretty clear except for Mayes county.

finally got some snow here in central ohio, only about 2" but that was enough to try out a snow blower that was given to me by a relative who is moving to florida. its a single-stage craftsman 5hp 21" with a 2 cycle techumseh, was oringinally $400. they still have the same blower at sears, but now its a 4 cycle engine. not bad for what it is, and certianly not bad for the price. now i have to load my weights back in the truck, i took them out 2 days ago. oh well. now i wish my drive was bigger now that i have a removal machine, here i am with it:
