'00 3.0L 5spd. While at a constant 65mph, should I be able to feel the AC clutch kick on and off with defrost? I know defrost uses the compressor. I've had 2 other 5spd rangers and can't remember if defrost was ever this noticable.

As you can see on the diagram, the compressor is engaged in all of the settings except in Panel, Off, and Floor.

Not sure I've ever felt the A/C engaging at cruise speeds. At a traffic light or at slow speeds... sure.

Is this a new to you truck and maybe you're hyper focused trying to feel it out?

I've never felt the Air Conditiining clutch kick on in any of my vehicles, even a Fiesta that seemed to be powered by a weedeater engine.
