Which model 3.0l engine do I have?????????

I have a 2003 Ranger Edge with the 3.0l v6. The 8th character in the vin# is a "V" which I see on the net is a flex fuel model. However the owners manual says the flex fuel models should have a "K" as the 8th character. The tailgate has a "leaf" emblem on it. All this has me confused. Either the manual or the info I get on the net is wrong. PLEASE HELP...

vin 'V' is a flex fuel motor.

I wonder why in the world Ford put "K" in the owners manual.

I found out that this was one of the misprints in the 1st edition of the manual that led to the printing of the second edition.
