Which lights would be best for night driving?

OP: just use the hella's and aim them so the "hot spot" of the beams are lower than your low beams. I've done this for years (since 1983) and no cop has ever stopped me and nobody has ever flashed their high beams at me.

i doubt you would get in trouble for it. In alaska all the state troopers have lightforce lights on ALL of their rigs. Again it may be different for different states, but those lightforces are the brightest and best lights out there.

I have had two 130w 6x9 KC driving lights on my bumper for over3 years. I use them with my brights and turn them when I see anything that resembles an on coming vehicle. Never been hassled by anyone.

As long as turn them off when there is oncoming traffic you will be fine. Also aiming them correctly will help just incase you forget to kill them when a car is coming at you.

Technically no uncovered forward facing lights can be above 4' in most states. I have never covered my Daylighters on my headache rack, nor have I used them for night driving. And I have never been hassled about them either.

Just dont be the idiot blinding everyone and you will be fine.

Nice to see no one cares about the uncovered lights on your rack. Out where I'm at theirs this one Toyota with four HID euro-lights on his rack; he doesn't use them but it still bothers me a ton. If I could do it I would but it's not worth the ticket in my opinion. CHP's not around much and I bet he's never on the main highway but still, if you want a rig you can drive on the street, I'd be thrilled to tell everyone that it is 100% legal.

Lights are the least of my concerns. Im over bumper/frame height front and rear by 5+" and I have tires beyond fenders not to mention 20% tint.

I got one warning on tint over a year ago. Never changed it, and never been an issue since.

I used to drive the truck 400 miles a week when it was 4" taller and never was hassled for anything but speeding.lol

I was pulled over by campus police for a brake light on my camper shell not getting brighter with the main brake lights. Checked vehicle code and then proceeded to disconnect the light after I found out vehicles manufactured before '97 need only two lights.

Funny thing is, the officer almost forgot to ask for my license.
