You guys seem to miss the whole point of this, you have to pick which one is worse and why you think so.

I definitely wouldnt ask this question, because your gonna get alot of answers, As well as I think there were one or two people who dealt with something similiar to this for real.

However its a fair question, Neither is worse. When a child is killed their life is over, when a child is abused, their life is also over. They may learn to cope eventually, but they will always suffer that memory and carry fears. THey will never be the child they would have been. Either one deserves the death penalty. It would be nice to drag it out and cut nutz and all that shit, but lets face it, we want them of this earth. Death penalty.

Since I've never had to deal with it, I will agree that you might be right.

Question back at you. Why Psychology? You realize you will probably have to have a doctorate to do anything with that degree, right? From my experience, and this is not a shot at you, no one goes into psychology unless they have problems of their own they are trying to work through. I have seen psychologists and psychiatrists do as much or more damage to a person as the origional offender. My only request is get your own sorted out before you try to fix someone else's.

I have no problems putting either offender you mentioned on a stick for the passerbys to admire and the birds to pick at. There is little black and white in these situations. It depends. Statutory rape between an 18yr old and a 16yr old because her daddy caught them? Shooting a guy in the back of the head while he was running away from you... while abducting your 3yr old daughter?

Agreed. Either way the perp is killing the child. One way will just cause more pain.

I find the brain and how it functions pretty neat, and i would love to know more about it. Something about people i am just attracted to, and if i can help some people out on the way then that will be good with me. I am not doing it for the money, i am doing it so i can learn, afterall knowledge is the light in the world.

I see no distinction. If it was an adult, and not a child, I would say murder. But I have 1 major law and punishment in my world.... you mess with kids... you die.

Now to answer your question... Murder is worse. For the plain and simple fact that you can survive rape, ... by definition, murder is death with malice and forethought.

We do indeed! Like I said, I didn't intend it as a shot at you or Psychology in general. I did a short stint in psychology during nursing school. Not my thing. Them people is crazy! Just can't relate. Though there are those who would say I'm crazier than most! In addition, I had lots of friends that worked at the psych in various possitions. I can honestly say the only thing that separated them from the patients was the keys in teir pockets! Most of the folks that I have worked with that came out of the psych profession were just... Weird... There are always exceptions. Just my experience.
