I'm running some old bias-ply 33's on my choptop (the tires were made about 30 years ago). Running a 2.9L with around 100k miles (near as I can tell anyway) and 4.10 gears with an FM-146 trans. I was concerned that it wouldn't go very well, but it gets along just fine like that. With the 58mm throttle body swap, it seemed to have a little more go and I was getting around 18 mpg around town with it.
Only took it out on the highway a couple times - anything over 60mph and the doors would start flapping, so I usually ran around 55 and tried to minimize my highway travel, so I can't really speak of how it did on the highway.
