My credo
What's the worst that could happen?
I know there is a parts compatibility thread somewhere, but can't find it. So I'll ask:
I have a 94. The front right fender needs replacing (rusted out at the base near the door typical). I have a choice between a 93 and a 97.

I'm guessing the 93 would be a better choice but it is in kinda rough shape - no rust , but dinged up.

thanks

This is a question where pictures will tell the story 🙂; I am interested in how these l👀k.

car-part.com shows 93 to 97 as interchangeable, I'd go with the one in better shape

I took the 97 as it was in much better shape - just a few scratches. The most obvious differences are where the mounting holes are along the top the fender and along the front where it meshes with the headlight/taillight bezel and trim - this is difficult to explain without some side by each image comparisons. That said, if it lines up I don't care.

When aligning the 97, I was not able to get it to align properly. I admit it was a quick attempt and I could take more time to do it - which is what I'll do - but I am not convinced it will line up. (if it does line up, it will be the first time I have ever been wrong about anything ever... ;brownbag; ).

Images will help:
Which fender will be a better fit? Which fender will be a better fit?
The gap tween the bumper and fender is because the trim piece is missing. I will work on this some more before I to stupid stuff like...

Here are the two fenders side by each. The stupid stuff would be to cut off the good part from the 97 and use it to replace the bad part of the 94.
Which fender will be a better fit?

Thanks for your insights and putting up with my ill timed humor.

Here's one major difference:
Which fender will be a better fit? Which fender will be a better fit?

Back to the stupid stuff I mentioned earlier...
Which fender will be a better fit? Which fender will be a better fit?

I think it came out okay. Just pop riveted in place for now but everything lines up.

Green looks like a 98+ fender, not a 97 fender. Not positive, but if I'm right, I think that the curvature of the upper edge may be a little different as well.

You're probably right. The pull yard had it listed as a 97 but I trust you guys more than the pull yard for sure.
Either way I'm happy with the result and am movin' on.
More pics as I go \. Thanks for your input.
