I can't tell any difference with water or without. I used to have it hooked up with my old intake but the Esslinger intake isn't made for water to run through it. I don't have a choke so I might have to keep it running for a couple minutes when it's real cold. I think a choke would make a bigger difference than hot water, in my opinion, but Ford saw a reason to use it so I'm not sure. If you don't want hot water then you need an intake gasket for I think a 1983 LTD with a propane 2.3. It doesn't have a place for the water jacket. I've heard of people using cans or pie tins on the intake side for extra insurance it doesn't blow through the gasket.
