The computers at advanced auto parts, Pep Boys, and auto Zone don't specify which cable, and all three stores told me to remove the cable and bring it in - but I'd rather just go and pick it up, because I can't get a ride to the store

Are all of them pretty much universal and is it just a matter of getting the length right ?

Wouldn't the cable gauge be on the cable itself?
Get the gauge and length, the auto store should know the rest.

I'd think they should know the gauge to use.

Didn't know where on the wire to find the guage and length on the wire

any suggestions?

The computers at all 3 stores didn't have any info ?

A lot of battery cables aren't "battery cables" anymore. They are wiring harnesses. If your positive & negatives have more than 1 large (4 gauge) wire you will have to have them made up or get them from Ford. Many these days have fuseable links built in. If you want it done right spend the money and go to Ford. This is from a guy that works at Advance too.

cool, thanks

what's the best way to get them direct from Ford ?

Will a dealership sell me the part only w/ NO strings attached by them having to install it as well instead of me just installing it myself?

Dealerships usually have a parts counter.
If they have the part, they'll sell it. They don't need to install it, unless you want them too.

In my experience anyways.
