Which axles under my Ranger

I'm on a V8 302 swap, and i'm thinking about my axle.

Which is the best options. before i modify my drivehaft

1-keep my front Dana28(6.6 inch) and rear 7.5 and hope

2-Buy 90's 4.0L front and rear axle(8.8) (bolt in option)

3-Put the axles of the full-size Bronco i've already.......

Any ideas????????

As long as you don't get to crazy with the throttle or tire size, the D35 and 8.8 would probably hold up pretty well.

What are your other plans for it?

a stock 185Hp 5.0 L EFI,C6 tranny, BW1356 or NP205(not sure yet 1356 lot of work) 3 inch body lift, 31 inch tire

I think a 7.5 would be fine behind a stock-mild 5.0. The D28 won't like you though, although Totalled wheeled his d28 a long time with a 302 before breaking it. A d35 and 31spline 8.8 are plenty strong for a 302.

The 7.5 is pretty strong for what it is... they were standard on 5.0 mustangs up till 86 when the power increased. If you lock it or weld it, it should last a long life with the smaller tire an lower power motor. The spiders are the weak point in a 7.5. I beat mine like it owed me money and it never even whimpered.

My D28 took way more than I ever thought it would... I would just go right to the D35... you'll be money ahead just in maintenance costs you would save putting into a D28 and then swapping it out later anyway.
