Where'd it go?

Hey, instead of trying to track down the leak with the naked eye why not add a fluro dye pack to the coolant. Let the truck warm up to operating temp
put on the special U/V glasses and under blacklight the leak will glow ... BRIGHTLY.

It's the same type of dye introduced into HVAC systems to locate tiny gas leaks. I use the stuff all the time with great results. Depending where you live you may need to mail order the kit. Costs about 40.00$ give or take.
Hope this helps!

I'm familiar with the UV dye kits. I think I even have a .5 oz bottle of it in my tool box at my parents house, somewhere. I lost my black light though. Too cheap to go buy another one and too lazy to worry about it that much at the moment.

I figure it its a bad head its a bad head and I can go find a running B2 for cheap and buy that, drive it around for a bit. I'm 4.0 swapping it soon enough anyway.

If its anything else then its not a big enough problem to worry about that much until it gets warm enough to actually do something with it.

Knowing my luck its one of the freeze plugs in the back of a head leaking anyway. Simple enough to not be a big deal. Hard enough to take forever and a day to fix properly.

I'm still thinkin' Spitfire is over here stealing my coolant though.

Put some Bar's leak in it, it might help/solve the problem, and contrary what others have said(on these forums), it has never plugged anything up on any of my vehicles. (and one vehicle had like a bottle and a HALF in it! It did not leak! The coolant was literally a chocolate shake!!! and the heater still worked!!!! head gasket was blown, but it got me by!)

The Original Bar's leak, Grey bottle stuff.

Nothing like sneaking around in the middle of the night stealing antifreeze!! Hate it when those bastards buy the cheap shit. I mean really....come on. spend the extra bucks to keep me happy!

Ok, well I got a bottle of Bar's and a new rad cap tonight. Time to see if anything has changed.
