hey guys,

i wanted to put a sub in my 2001 ford ranger xlt. it has the super cab. i want to put in a sub and still be able to use the rear seats. i just have no idea where to put them or what kind of sub to get.

thanks,

Nick

take some measurements of the area under the seats with the seats down. you may have enough room for a conventional subwoofer. post the measurement and ill find something for you.

buy a jl tw5 if you can afford it they hit amazing but they are so small. you may have to build your own box for it but they only need .4 cu/ft of space so thats def. not an issue

the jl costs too much for me. the dimensions i have under the little seats are 7 in tall x 9 inch wide x 14 inch long. the seats slant so it would have to be a slanting box. it goes from about 8 inches tall to 6 inches.

thanks

i think you can only get away with 6.5" subs. i think it would have to fire towards the rear(which would be optimal) or be downfiring. id use one on each side for best results.

I've seen a guy that made a custom fiberglass box that had a 10'' in it. He removed the cover and jack and made it to fit there. I was thinking of tring that, best setup I've seen.

front seat type

i got a 94 reg cab... didnt wanna spend the dough on a low pro sub cuz i had a Xplod 10" sittin around. depending on what seats you have, u can put a shallow one under a seat, OR if you have a split bench seat, u can always cut out the middle seat, turn it into 2 buckets, and make a sub box that sqeezes in there. thats what i did on mine, a super cab would be terribly simple to fit in the middle if you have that seat design.:headbang:

I am getting two Memphis 15-sc10 subs. They only require 2.8" mounting depth. I am putting them in a reg cab 94, used to have two JL 12w6's behind the seats but the seats were slid foward like 5 inhes (not comfortable even for me and I'm short)
