I'm looking to rebuilt my trans while I have it out putting a clutch in. While talking with my uncle(ex-Ford master trans tech), he said there is an upgraded hardened replacement input shaft.
I want that shaft as well as 1-2, 3-4 syncros, and a rebuild kit.
But where do I buy em from??????:icon_confused:

the inut shaft is usually paired witha cluster gear when sold...

There are several dealers on ebay who sell the combo for ~$130

The "replacements" are made in India of all places

Don't worry, that's where the OE stuff has been made for more than a decade
(The japanese shipped the tooling to india and set up their facory in the sub continent)

BTW, putting in "new" synchros doesn't always accomplish anything except make you poorer....

While there are "ugraded" synchro's for 2nd & 3rd they require a different synchro slider & Hub assembly and those new cost EACH what an assembled trans costs

if a manual trans rebuilder replaced everything inside a manual transmission that can go bad the rebuilt trans would wind up costing $1500-$2000

So the rule is don't fix what ain't broke.

Click the contact link at the top and send an email to David about what you need. They normally just sell remanufactured transmissions and bearing kits but if you contact them they'll deal with you on parts. I buy my shifter bushings and inner shifter boots from them because they've got the best deal i've ever seen on them. I talked to him about certain internal parts before and I remember his prices sounding decent but never had to order any yet.
