I just bought this truck and the previous owner has a loud speaker(ice cream truck style). At the other end of the wire it has like a 3mm jack(similar to head phones) Its mounted inside the fender well of the rear passengers side tire(opposite side of the gas filler neck). What could this be used for? Fun? Also what can I connect to it to use it?:icon_confused: THANX:icon_thumby:

Possibly a cb, or just playing radio outside truck?? What you can connect to it depends on it's impedance.

sounds like a pa for cb to me

There is usually two jacks on the back. One is for an external speaker for in the cab and one if for a PA speaker outside the truck.

cb, coax, and antenna. and you will need to tune it properly.

swr's is what they are talking about it is to match your cb, antenna and coax.
this provides the best results if you were close to me i would set it up for you.

There is also a sound effects box you can get similiar to a PA system. My bro in law used to run around and punch the cow button whenever we saw fat chics walking. PA speakers make this a pretty awesome setup.

lol my buddy had the ice cream truck music in his sound effects box and hed have kids following his ranger around haha

Well bought the CB that I said on Craiglist, Cobra 29LTD Classic, $40 bucks. This PA deal is pretty fun, everybody turns around and act all confused!!! Especially when my 4yr old boy talks on it!! They have no clue where the voice is coming from! Ive never owned one before, lov it. Does any one know whats the max distance range with an antenna would be, between cb to cb?

Usually not far 3 to 4 miles, sometimes 100 mies.

Make sure you get the antenna tuned for low standing wave ratio (SWR); It takes a meter and a small piece of Coax for a jumper.

Did you get the coax and antenna with the CB ?

What type of antenna mount are you using ?

If you do not have the antenna hooked up DO NOT TRANSMIT IN THE CB MODE !

ltr,
